Overview

Stormborn builds autonomous surface vessels that stay on station in open water for up to 365 days, giving offshore infrastructure and coastal waters round-the-clock surveillance without a crew.

We built their site from the ground up in Webflow — a platform that needed to hold two very different products (X-WAVE and SEAFENCE), speak to investors, defence buyers and maritime operators without diluting the message for any of them, and look as engineered as the hardware it's describing.

Webflow Build: built from zero — hero video, product configurator sections and mission-briefing CTA designed and shipped as one system.

Dual-Product Architecture: X-WAVE and SEAFENCE structured as distinct sections with their own logic, without splitting the site's authority in two.

Technical Credibility Design: dark, radar-inspired visual language that reads as engineering, not marketing.

Conversion Path: "Request mission briefing" replacing the usual "get a quote" — because that's how this audience actually buys.

The Challenge

For a company raising investment in autonomous defence technology, a good website is a must — investors, partners and procurement contacts had nowhere to send people, and no way to check the company out before a call.

The site needed to do more than exist. It had to look as engineered and credible as the hardware itself, explain a genuinely technical product to non-specialist investors in minutes.

Our Approach & Result

We started with research, not design — understanding how a defence and investment audience actually evaluates a company like Stormborn before deciding what the site needed to say.

Kick-off & Workshop: a structured session to pin down the audience, the proof points that matter to them, and what "credible" looks like in maritime defence — before any design work began.

Product Clarity at Scale: gave X-WAVE and SEAFENCE their own full sections — capability tiles, plain-English explanations of sensor fusion — so an investor doing five minutes of due diligence and a technical evaluator both leave understanding what the systems do.

Trust Signal Placement: backer logos, class-approval and sovereignty language, and deployment claims surfaced early — this audience checks credibility before capability.
